After his smartphone exploded in his face a couple of years ago in 2019, an iPhone user named Robert Franklin in Texas has filed a class-action lawsuit against Apple for allegedly selling faulty batteries and breaching its warranty commitments.
According to Apple Insider, the case was brought in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The iPhone 6’s battery “contains a defect that renders it unable to reliably perform its work,” according to the study.
It is requesting class-action status as well as a jury trial, as well as damages for the supposedly faulty iPhone 6 and its battery, as well as incidental damages for replacement devices, as well as attorneys’ fees and court costs.
According to the lawsuit, Apple broke Texas law by selling unmerchantable goods. It also says that Apple’s warranty promised that the iPhone 6 would be defect-free, but that this was not the case.
