Concentrated solar thermal technology (CST) captures solar energy using large mirrors or lenses to focus sunlight onto a small area called the receiver.
There are different types of these mirrors, called solar collectors, including dish systems, solar power towers, and parabolic troughs, each with a unique design and way of focusing sunlight.
The receiver, located at the focal point of the solar collector, absorbs the concentrated sunlight and converts it into heat. It contains special fluids like molten salt or high-temperature oil to do this.
