The most renowned captain of the Pakistan National Cricket Team, Babar Azam has achieved a milestone of being among the top three positions in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Ranking, becoming the only batsman worldwide to reach the top three across all three formats i.e., Test, ODI, and T20.
Babar Azam is one of the finest players holding the top positions in the One-Day International batting rankings and the third position in the T20 batting rankings. He surpassed the sixth place reaching third with a total of 862 points in the latest MRF ICC Men’s Test batting rankings as well.
ICC mentioned on its website that Babar Azam’s take-off in the batting rankings has restructured the top spots with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne of Australia, as well as England’s Joe Root, all dropping one position, intensifying the competition in the rankings.
Babar Azam has the potential to surpass the current leader if he performs well in the upcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka.
