According to the new ICC ODI rankings, Pakistan captain Babar Azam dethroned Indian captain Virat Kohli to become the world’s top-ranked ODI batsman.
With 865 points, Azam now leads the ICC’s ODI batsman rankings, while Kohli is second with 857 points.
Babar ended Kohli’s five-year reign at the top of the ICC rankings with the latest rankings. Since October 2017, the Indian captain has been on top of the table.
Babar has followed in the footsteps of compatriots Zaheer Abbas (1983-84), Javed Miandad (1988-89), and Mohammad Yousuf (2003) by ending Kohli’s 1,258-day reign as the number one ODI batsman.
