Beware Karachiities! Extreme Heatwave Hits Karachi as Temperatures Increase Beyond 39°C

Karachi experienced extreme heat on Saturday as hot and dry winds swept through the city, raising the temperature above 39°C. The recent western weather system, which had been keeping temperatures lower, has now weakened, leading to clear skies and strong sunlight. This change in weather has made conditions more difficult for residents.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 39.1°C, which was 1.6°C higher than the previous day. Although the humidity was low at 15%, the strong north-western winds made the heat feel even more intense. The combination of dry winds and high temperatures created a tough environment, especially for those spending time outdoors.

Weather experts predict that similar hot conditions will continue on Sunday. Residents are advised to take precautions to protect themselves from the heat. It is important to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid going out in direct sunlight, especially during peak hours.

Karachi is no stranger to extreme temperatures, but such weather can still be dangerous, particularly for children, the elderly, and those with health conditions. Authorities recommend staying indoors as much as possible and keeping cool by using fans, air conditioners, or other cooling methods.

With summer heatwaves becoming more frequent, it is essential for people to take care of themselves and look out for others, especially those who may not have access to cooling facilities.
