Blackberry to Make a Massive Comeback with 5G Smartphone

Texas-based startup OnwardMobility, new owner of Blackberry, has announced that later this year it will introduce new smartphones.

BlackBerry’s relationship with TCL ended last year and it signed with OnwardMobility after a few months.

OnwardMobility’s CEO, Peter Franklin recently reiterated that this year the company will announce a 5G handset, reports GizChina. The company is presently working with Foxconn to manufacture a new BlackBerry 5G smartphone with a physical keyboard and security will be the main priority of the new phones.

However, as of now, no other device details have been shared and it is not clear whether this will be a flagship device or yet another mid-range.

Last year, it was announced that, under a licensing agreement with OnwardMobility and FIH Mobile Limited, BlackBerry will return to Europe and North America this year.
