Is Islamabad getting another Skyscraper?

Since the early days, man is striving to leave footprints on history with unique structures and buildings like the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Colosseum of Rome. Modern history witnessed a sharp boom in this trend, kings, and rulers have constructed marvelous buildings reminiscing their glorious past even today. The industrial revolution gave rise to new manufacturing processes which ultimately introduced construction at a large scale.  “The Home Insurance Building” built in 1885 and located on the corner of Adams and LaSalle Streets in Chicago, Illinois, went down in history as the world’s first modern skyscraper

At the time of its inception, Pakistan had no skyscraper or high-rise building, Habib Bank Plaza, built in 1963 in Karachi, was the first high-rise and the tallest building in Pakistan. Right now, Pakistan has almost 33 completed towers across the country with a minimum 100-meter height (328 ft) or 20 floors, based on standard height measurement. Karachi has the most completed high-rise buildings in Pakistan, followed by Islamabad.

The growing population made the development of high-rise buildings a crucial necessity because main cities reportedly became congested and were no longer to expand horizontally, thus, needed to expand vertically. The high population growth rate skyrocketed land prices and there was less space for expansion in the outskirts of the cities. In this situation, skyscrapers became the only option for a reasonable standard of living.

Islamabad is one of the few cities in Pakistan where there is a greater trend for building high-rise buildings as compared to other areas of Pakistan. Now, there are large areas dedicated to high-rise apartment buildings to overcome the scarcity of residential space in the overpopulated metropolitan.

Taking lead in transitioning the city from a conventional one to a skyline dominated by skyscrapers, the Faisal Town group took the initiative to provide an immediate solution to the lack of space in the city because the group has advanced earthquake-resistant technology required to construct vertical buildings in the region of Pothohar Plateau. It is pertinent to mention that Faisal Town group is not an ordinary housing society providing living space to dwellers, it is a prime real estate group of companies introducing new designs, different styles, and unique constructions. Some two years ago, Capital Development Authority (CDA), responsible for the development of the Federal Capital sold the most expensive plot in the history of Islamabad for almost nine billion PKR and the said plot was bought by Faisal Town. Another astonishing first of its kind fact about the purchase is that the plot has already been paid for in full single payment for 1st time in the history of Pakistan. Sources confirmed the rumors about the construction of an iconic building, sky scrapper by Faisal Town group on the plot situated in Blue Area Islamabad-the main business hub of the Capital. The proposed high-rise building will include commercial outlets, and ultra-luxury residences overlooking the scenic view of F-9 Park and Margalla Hills, much like the billionaire’s row, in New York City overlooking central park. To foster a community of residents and commercial vendors, it will be an international-level residential-led skyscraper in Pakistan and a great addition to the business and living standards of the residents.

Being a superb addition to the skyline of the country, one of the most luxurious high-rise towers in Pakistan not only provides business ventures to the construction and security industries but will provide employment opportunities to thousands of Pakistan after completion. The idealistic and modern design of the building makes it one of the most elegant high-rise towers in Pakistan. Offering ultra-luxury apartments in the heart of Islamabad, the high-rise is planned to become one of the best commercial and residential hotspots in Islamabad. People cognizant of the matter told that a qualified team of international designers has been hired by Faisal Group to design and construct the tower. The reason behind hiring the world’s renowned designers is to meet international standards in lieu of the increased international demand for property in the country. Furthermore, the team will be a sound addition to the existing officials of the Group qualified in the field of construction. As per the information received from different but reliable sources, the construction work will be started most probably in the second half of 2023 and the project will be completed within a stipulated time period. It is the time for investors, businessmen, and people looking for a high-end residence to hold on to their breath till their dreams come true because there will be a gigantic tower at the bottom of Margalla hills for retail and dream living soon.
