British Airline Ends Flight Operation in Pakistan

Virgin Atlantic has ended its operations in Pakistan, with the final flight departing from Islamabad to London on Sunday. The British airline, based in Crawley, started its operations in late 2020 but announced in February of this year that it would stop its services. Despite the decision, Virgin Atlantic continued to operate flights between London and Islamabad until July 9.

The last flight, VS-379, took off from Islamabad International Airport and headed to London’s Heathrow Airport. The closure of the Pakistan-UK operations was due to “low yield operations” and was made with regret, according to an airline spokesperson.

The decision allows for better allocation of resources and operational resilience. Virgin Atlantic’s discontinuation of services in Pakistan aligns with the ban imposed on Pakistan International Airlines for operating flights to the United Kingdom and Europe.
