Fresh developments in Pakistan’s ongoing Cambridge examination leak controversy suggest that leaked exam papers are reportedly being sold through social media platforms, including Reddit, for amounts reaching nearly Rs. 30,000. The allegations have intensified public concern, as the matter is no longer being viewed as isolated cheating incidents but as an organized profiteering network exploiting students during a critical academic period.
The controversy has sparked widespread debate among parents, students, and education experts after reports of multiple paper leaks surfaced during the current examination season. Critics argue that the repeated breaches have damaged confidence in the fairness and credibility of the examination process, while also placing honest students at a serious disadvantage. Many social media users have called for stricter monitoring of online platforms and stronger action against individuals involved in circulating confidential exam material before scheduled papers.
In response to the growing backlash, Federal Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has taken notice of the situation and ordered a formal investigation into the allegations. He emphasized the importance of transparency, merit, and accountability in the education system, stating that protecting students’ futures and restoring trust in examinations remain top priorities. Authorities are now expected to examine how the papers were leaked, identify those responsible, and determine whether organized groups are financially benefiting from the illegal distribution of exam content online.
