China has handed to Pakistan the largest and most advanced warship Beijing has ever sent, highlighting the two nations’ friendship and contributing to their all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.
The frigate, designed and built by China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), was delivered to the Pakistan Navy (PN) in Shanghai at a commissioning ceremony.
The PNS Tughril, a Type 054A/P frigate, is the first hull of four Type 054 frigates being built for the PN. The ship is a technologically advanced and capable platform with massive surface-to-surface, surface-to-air, and undersea weaponry, as well as comprehensive observation capabilities.
The Type 054A/P frigate, which is outfitted with cutting-edge battle management and an electronic warfare system, as well as advanced self-defense capabilities, can execute a number of naval warfare operations in a highly intensive multi-threat environment, according to Global Times.
