China Wins First Gold Medal at Paris Olympics

China’s Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao won the first gold medal of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Competing in the mixed team 10m air rifle event, the young pair outperformed South Korea’s Keum Ji-hyeon and Park Ha-jun, winning with a score of 16-12. This victory marks a strong start for China in the Olympics.

Huang, 17, and Sheng, 19, have already achieved significant success in their careers, having won titles at both the Asian Games and the World Championships. Adding an Olympic gold medal to their accomplishments highlights their exceptional talent and hard work.

In the same event, Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev secured the bronze medal by defeating Germany’s Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich with a score of 17-5. This bronze was the first medal awarded at the Games.
