Chinese Seeds and Technology Help Pakistan to Enhance Mulberry Products Exports

Mulberry is a well-known fruit in China and Pakistan. Cooperation between China and Pakistan is also in progress on this type of fruit, which is a little more “low-key” than mango or cherry. However, Pakistan is increasing its mulberry exports due to Chinese seeds and technologies.

Mulberry tree is also a “versatile” plant. Mulberry leaves, wood, branches, and roots are all useful. In particular, Mulberry leaves are not only a source of raw materials for tea, but also a major source of feed for silkworms.

“Mulberry leaf tea is widely consumed in China, Japan, and Thailand etc. It possesses cancer-fighting effects. It controls blood sugar. It also helps to regulate insulin levels. Furthermore, it regulates blood pressure in our bodies. It is also beneficial to the liver.

According to Malik Mohsin Abbas, Principal Scientist at the Ayub Agriculture Research Institute’s Horticulture Research Institute, it’s “miracle tea.”

Fast-growing mulberry trees, ranging in size from tiny to medium, are also widely planted throughout Punjab and KPK in Pakistan.

In addition, Pakistan is ideally suited to the development of the mulberry sector, particularly mulberry tea. Because of the hot temperature, a mulberry tree can grow to maturity in as little as ten months.

Not only this, Pakistanis can also harvest mulberry leaves multiple times in a year.
