Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has introduced a special Holi package for the Hindu community. According to a statement from the Chief Minister House, 700 families from the Hindu community will get financial help of Rs. 10,000 per person through this package.
The money has already been given to the Deputy Commissioners to distribute it to the families.
It’s important to mention that according to the 2023 census, there are more than 2.2 million Hindus living in Pakistan. These numbers come from the National Database Report and show the registered Hindu population. The total population of Pakistan was recorded to be around 241.49 million.
Holi is celebrated as a festival of colors, love, and the arrival of spring, which holds a special place in Hindu culture.
