Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security, with Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry saying the country is prepared to go “to any extent” to defend the Kingdom.
Addressing the issue, the military spokesperson said Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia is unconditional and includes the protection of Makkah and Madinah, the two holiest cities in Islam.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia through both diplomatic and physical support, particularly amid continuing regional tensions and security concerns.
His remarks come as discussions continue over the longstanding defence relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The two countries have maintained close security and diplomatic ties for decades, with defence cooperation forming an important part of their bilateral relationship.
The DG ISPR stressed that Pakistan’s position is centred on protecting the Kingdom and the Two Holy Mosques against any aggression. The statement also reaffirmed Pakistan’s stated commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia during periods of heightened regional uncertainty.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have historically maintained close relations across defence, diplomacy, trade and other areas. The latest comments underline the security dimension of that relationship at a time when tensions in the region remain a concern.
The statement from the military spokesperson reiterates Pakistan’s position that the security of Saudi Arabia and the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques remain matters of particular importance in its bilateral relations with the Kingdom.
