Pakistani startups managed to raise a record $47 million in pre-seed, seed, pre-Series A, Series B and Series B funding rounds during 2020 in 23 transactions, a 26 percent rise from 2019 amid a global economic slowdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic. In 2019, Pakistani companies earned $37 million from 19 transactions.
Last year 23 deals, most of them in the transport category were signed, according to Techshaw, with the average deal worth more than $2 million.
8 deals worth $1,265 million were signed during Q1 in terms of funding received in each quarter of 2020, while 3 deals worth $13.1 million were inked during Q2.
During Q3, 8 deals worth $16 million were finalized while during Q4 last year, 8 deals worth $16.3 million were signed.
