Dubai International Airport (DXB) has once again earned the title of the world’s busiest international airport, according to the Airports Council International (ACI). In 2024, the airport welcomed around 92.3 million passengers, keeping it ahead of other major travel hubs such as London, Singapore, and Seoul.
This is the second year in a row that DXB has topped the global list. The airport’s performance reflects the growing number of people choosing Dubai as a travel destination or transit point. Its success is linked to its perfect location between Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as its excellent facilities and smooth travel experience.
ACI’s report also shared that the world’s top 10 busiest airports handled a total of 855 million passengers in 2024 — an increase of 8.8% from 2023. Globally, passenger numbers have returned to normal and even passed the levels seen before the COVID-19 pandemic, reaching almost 5 billion travelers.
ACI praised airports like Dubai for their strength and adaptability during tough times, including economic challenges and shifting travel trends. Dubai’s ability to maintain its lead shows how strong and reliable its travel system is. With advanced infrastructure, fast services, and a reputation for luxury, Dubai International Airport continues to attract travelers from all over the world.
This achievement is not only a win for Dubai but also a sign of how international travel is growing again. DXB’s performance shows the importance of strategic planning, investment in technology, and offering travelers a comfortable and efficient airport experience.
