Dubai to Launch $35 Billion Airport Terminal with Capacity for 250 Million Passengers

Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, has approved the construction of a new passenger terminal at Al Maktoum International Airport. The project is valued at a massive AED 128 billion (equivalent to $34.85 billion).

This major expansion is set to make Al Maktoum International the largest airport in the world. Once completed, the airport will be capable of handling an incredible 260 million passengers annually. This is five times the current capacity of Dubai International Airport, one of the busiest airports globally.

The new terminal will feature 400 gates for passengers and five state-of-the-art runways, ensuring smooth and efficient operations for travelers. Over the coming years, all flights and activities at Dubai International Airport will gradually shift to Al Maktoum International. This move will cement the airport’s role as a global hub for international travel.

This ambitious project highlights Dubai’s commitment to remaining a leader in the aviation industry. By building such an advanced and large-scale facility, the emirate is further strengthening its position as a key center for global connectivity and air travel.
