The Punjab government has approved the construction of an elevated corridor highway from Main Boulevard Gulberg to Motorway-M2 in order to maintain traffic flow and prevent pollution.
In addition, the administration stated that the traditional Horse and Cattle Show will be held across the province from March 10 to 12. The decisions were decided at the 76th meeting of the Cabinet Standing Committee on Finance and Development, which was presided over by Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Chief Secretary Punjab, the Chairman of the Planning and Development Board, the Finance Secretary, and secretaries from relevant departments, as well as Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal via video link.
The minister asked the Finance Department, Planning and Development, and the Lahore Development Authority to provide a financial plan and timetable for the construction of the elevated highway so that work on the project could begin as soon as possible.
