CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk has recently announced at an investor event that company is soon going to operate the robo-taxis.
It will be a full self-driving vehicle that would be competing with the ride-hailing services like Uber and the Lyft. However, Musk has also pitched the robo-taxis just as simple way for owners of Tesla to make money whenever they are not using their vehicles.
The idea behind it would benefit the Tesla owner as this program will let the owner to rent out vehicle for the rides, along with Tesla taking a complete cut of revenue as well as the rest of the money will be going to the wallets of owners of the vehicle.
Musk said that “It’s financially insane as to buy anything other than a Tesla.”
He also further said that “It will be like owning a horse in just three years.”
Tesla has anticipated that the robo-taxis would last for about 11 years in which it can drive 1 million miles as well as make a gross profit of $30,000 per car annually.
This is one of the aggressive predictions made by Musk about the latest technology of Tesla.
