The National Highways and Motorway Police has introduced new traffic restrictions on major routes across the country, affecting motorists and transport operators travelling between key cities.
Under the latest measures, the entry of heavy and cargo vehicles travelling from Lahore towards Islamabad has been restricted on the M-2 Motorway. The decision is expected to affect freight movement along the important route and may require transporters to adjust their travel plans.
Traffic restrictions have also been reported on other major roads. The M-14 Motorway has been closed between Hakla and Kundal, while the N-5 National Highway at Attock Khurd is also affected. These closures are creating changes in normal traffic movement and could lead to longer travel times for people using the affected routes.
Meanwhile, the M-1 Motorway connecting Islamabad and Peshawar is scheduled to remain closed to all traffic from 11pm until further notice. Travellers planning journeys on the route have been advised to take the closure into account before leaving.
The Motorway Police has urged motorists to remain updated about the latest road conditions and follow instructions issued by traffic authorities. Drivers have also been advised to consider alternative routes where possible to avoid unnecessary delays.
