Farah Jamil, a 32-year-old Muslim woman from Glasgow, has achieved great success as a boxer. She has won three prestigious titles in different weight categories and is now getting ready to compete in the Three Nations title with Team Scotland later this month.
Farah’s accomplishments are significant as she is Scotland’s first champion Muslim amateur female boxer. She aims to break barriers and overcome obstacles faced by women in sports, often referred to as the “glass ceiling.”
She started her boxing journey about ten years ago and discovered her talent for the sport. Recently, Farah won her third national title, the Scottish Elite Golden Gloves Light-Welterweight Championship, by unanimous decision against Shannon Lawson from Barrhead, East Renfrewshire.
Farah’s home in Pollokshields has a spacious back garden, making it ideal for a large family and offering possibilities like adding a summerhouse.
Now, she is gearing up for her most significant challenge yet, representing her country on the international stage.
