Google, Facebook, and other technology companies have been encouraged to create offices in Pakistan by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain.
He expressed his admiration for Google, Facebook, and other digital businesses on the BBC’s “Hard Talk” show. He stated, “I want them to come to Pakistan and open offices.”
“We want to do business with technology companies, and we recognize their contribution to the world,” he said, dismissing reports that Pakistan has implemented legislation restricting social media freedom.
He continued, “Hate speech is a globally accepted fact that must be curbed; all states and organizations are duty-bound not to tolerate hate speeches.”
