FIA Arrests 2 Suspects in 20,000-Liter Daily Diesel Theft from PSO Pipeline

FIA, with the support of PSO, has uncovered a major diesel theft network operating near Sihala. During a raid, officials arrested two suspects who were allegedly involved in the illegal operation.

According to officials, the suspects had installed an underground pipeline that was illegally connected to the main PSO-ARL fuel pipeline. The group was reportedly stealing around 20,000 litres of diesel every day and selling it on the black market.

Authorities said the illegal activity had been going on for nearly five to six months. During this period, the theft is believed to have caused financial losses of more than Rs. 100 million.

During the operation, FIA and PSO teams recovered the illegal underground pipeline used for stealing fuel. They also seized several drums filled with diesel and two Shehzore vehicles that were allegedly being used to transport the stolen fuel.

Officials said the successful operation was carried out after gathering information about the illegal fuel theft network. The recovered evidence will be used as part of the ongoing investigation.

The FIA has launched further investigations to identify other people who may have been involved in the operation. Authorities are also trying to determine whether any facilitators or additional members of the network helped carry out the theft.

Officials said strict action will be taken against everyone found involved in the case. The investigation is continuing, and more arrests may be made as authorities gather additional evidence.

The operation is part of ongoing efforts to prevent fuel theft, protect national resources, and take action against illegal activities affecting the country’s fuel supply.
