Recently, the flour mill owners raised the subsidised flour prices of 20kg bag from Rs330 to Rs1,310.
Updated prices would be effective from tomorrow however, the rates of flour is raised by Rs.16.50 / kg, as per Flour Mill Owners Association.
According to the report shared by PBS (Pakistan Bureau of Statistics) recently, on an average the prices of wheat flour is jacked up by 7.51% all over the country to Rs106.38/kg in a last week to Rs98.95 in a prior week to that ended on 8 September.
Before that, Abdul Rauf Ibrahim Chairman Karachi Wholesalers Grocers Association (KWGA) worried and expressed fear that country might witness a wheat flour crises in upcoming days with inflated prices upto Rs200/kg.
Further, he criticized Sindh government for the predicted flour crises as it fixed the support prices upto RS4,000/maund 7months prior the new crop.
