PTI general secretary Asad Umar has been arrested by the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
PTI leaders Asad Umar and Shah Mehmood Qureshi had brought a petition in the Islamabad High Court in which they had requested that they were not being allowed to meet Imran Khan.
Asad Umar went to the chief justice’s room with this application, after which he reached the library near the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, from where the Anti-Terrorist Squad of The Islamabad Police arrested Asad Umar.
On this occasion, PTI lawyers tried to resist the arrest of Asad Umar, on which there was a scuffle between the forces and lawyers and the officials left with Asad Umar.
PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Babar Awan, Malika Bukhari and other leaders were also present outside the Islamabad High Court, from where they were supposed to go to the Supreme Court.
Earlier in the morning, former Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema was also detained from his house while the houses of Usman Dar and Qasim Suri were also raided.
Cases are pending against almost all the important leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in different police stations, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry and others are likely to be arrested.
