The Ministry of Commerce in Pakistan and Deutsche Gesellschaft für the Internationale Zusammenarbeit- GIZ, Germany has recently signed an agreement for supporting two projects where one is on the improvement of the Labor as well as the Social and the Environmental Standards in Textile Industry of Pakistan.
It is an implementation agreement that has been signed in pursuance of the memorandum of understanding- MoU that was previously signed between the Economic Affairs Division representing the Pakistan and Federal Republic of the Germany on 23rd December, 2020. However, the government of Germany also agreed to support the 2 projects that are mentioned above.
Moreover, under this agreement the Germany’s Federal Republic would also provide up to 7.5 Million euros and this German contribution will lasts for a period of three years from now.
