According to sources, Pakistan’s utility stores have announced a massive Rs1,090 hike in the price of a 10-liter ghee pack, which will now cost Rs3,590 starting Friday.
According to the Utility Stores Corporation of Pakistan (USCP), the notification will take effect immediately, and a box of 10-liter ghee that was previously sold for Rs2,500 will now be available for Rs3,590.
This translates to a Rs109 rise in the price of a kilogram of a basic commodity used in everyday life. Similarly, the cost of a 5kg pack of cooking oil has increased by Rs463. It will now be available for Rs1,795. It was sold in utility stores for Rs1,332 until today.
