Government would invest Rs 92 billion in the Hyderabad-Sukkur highway project

The board of the Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) approved the funding of Rs92 billion from the budget and through toll charges to make the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway project financially viable and appealing to private parties on Wednesday.

According to the revised funding structure, the project’s cost might rise from the Rs165 billion approved a year ago to Rs201 billion. Asad Umar, Minister of Planning and Development, presided over the PPPA board meeting.

According to Umar, the PPPA has approved the viability gap fund and transaction structure for the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway project.

This will be the largest project in the Sindh development package unveiled by the Prime Minister last week, he added.
