The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has ratified the four-wheeler electric vehicle policy that will be instrumental in rationalizing the cost of buying, developing and encouraging the use of electric vehicles in Pakistan.
The Minister for Factories & Development, Hammad Azhar announced this via his Twitter account.
“Today, the ECC ratified the 4-wheeler Electric Vehicle Scheme. This would be instrumental in streamlining the cost of buying, developing and encouraging the use of electric vehicles in Pakistan. The ECC has also ratified the elimination of such irregularities in the Production Strategy for Cell Phones.”
He also added that the ECC has also ratified the elimination of such irregularities in the policy of producing cell phones.
Federal Minister of Science & Technology Fawad Chaudhry said this would play a key role in bringing about this enormous shift in Pakistan. He further claimed that not only will the environment benefit from changing the vehicle regime from combustion to electricity, but it will also bring a downward price trend.
