Shahram Khan Tarakai, the Minister of Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has announced that the provincial government has set aside Rs. 130 billion to promote quality education in the province.
He said this while speaking at a function in Kohat on Friday, adding that the government has implemented latest technology in the education sector in accordance with international standards.
The minister claimed that the provincial government is committed to the advancement of education in the province’s remote areas, and that Rs. 3 billion has been set aside for school and college furniture.
Minister Tarakai informed UNICEF and UNDP delegations led by Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmore earlier on Wednesday that the government is implementing smart school systems to promote IT skills among womenfolk so that they can get decent jobs while at home.
