Syed Aminul Haque, the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, said that all efforts had been made to improve technology access in small towns and cities. He also added that the number of software technology parks will nearly increase to 40 within a year.
“Currently, the country has 22 software technology parks, with the number expected to rise to 40 by December 2022. The expansion is primarily in second-tier cities and towns,” the minister remarked at the Rawalpindi inauguration of Amazon Software Technology Park.
He stated that secondary cities have been given special attention in order to facilitate the development of the IT industry across the country.
Moreover, the most major benefit of this policy is that it focuses on women’s empowerment, as per the minister.
He further said that a huge percentage of women can work as freelancers or on a project while being at home.
