In order to promote their histories, traditions, and legacies, the federal government has agreed to create world-class museums in Abbottabad, Kalash and Peshawar, and is working on a plan to refine the natural beauty of Chitral.
These decisions were taken in light of the keen interest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar in investing in the establishment of museums in Pakistan.
Speaking at a webinar on Wednesday, the SAPM on Pakistani Foreign and Growth of Human Capital, Sayed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari stated that by generating revenues, museums can significantly boost a country’s economy and that previous governments have left this sector uncharted.
He also announced that the PTI government had taken requisite measures to improve the sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
SAPM also announced that the Lahore Museum will be operated by the Archeology Department and that a board will be formed for this purpose.
