According to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), power tariffs should be raised by Rs4.75 per unit across the country.
According to reports, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has asked NEPRA to raise electricity prices across the country in response to the October monthly fuel adjustment pricing.
According to information provided by the CPPA in October, diesel generated Rs 25.22 of electricity, while Frans oil generated Rs 22.21. Furthermore, water generation climbed to 23.36 percent, coal to 16.69 percent, Frans oil to 10.88 percent, diesel oil to 0.5 percent, gas to 9.67 percent, and LNG to 23.93 percent.
It is important to note that if NEPRA approves the CPPA’s proposal to increase power prices, the people will be forced to bear an additional burden of Rs60 billion across the country.
