The federal government made the decision to contract out the administration of the airports in Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore to foreign companies in an attempt to bring in direct foreign investment and offer travelers first-class amenities.
The breakthrough came at a meeting in Islamabad that was chaired by the prime minister and focused on aviation and airports, according to a statement from the PM Office.
The three main airports in the nation—Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, and Islamabad International Airport—will be outsourced, it was decided during the conference.
The premier also ordered all affected departments to quickly move during the outsourcing process. He added that this procedure should be fair.
