In addition to motorcycles and rickshaws, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has ordered that gasoline subsidies for low-income, impoverished people be provided in addition to the Rs 50 per liter subsidy on gasoline for motorbikes, rickshaws, and automobiles up to 800 cc.
The practical program of petroleum subsidy should be finished as soon as possible, and all pertinent institutions should develop a comprehensive strategy with mutual cooperation for the effective implementation of petroleum subsidy. All low-income consumers using 800 cc and other small vehicles should be included.
A review meeting on the petroleum relief package for low-income petroleum consumers was held in Lahore under the presidency of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, according to a statement released by the media department of the Prime Minister’s Office.
