A stone lying near a farmer’s house in America for decades turned out to be a scientific and financial treasure.
A stone weighing 10 kg was found in the same place for almost 80 years, now scientists have identified it, this stone is a fragment of a rare meteorite. It was first observed in 2018 by Mona Serbescu of Central Michigan University. At first sight she was convinced of its extraordinary utility.
The meteorite named ‘admormetorite’ contains iron and German silver (nickel) but has a high nickel content.
The farmer said that when he started managing the field near the house in 1988, this strange stone was used to block the gate. According to another story, in the 1930s there was a loud noise after a bright ball appeared over the field, it was the Edmore Meteor.
Experts say it can fetch up to $75,000 at an auction house.
