The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has announced that heavy monsoon rains are expected across Punjab until July 7. According to PDMA, there will be significant rainfall in several districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Shakargarh, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, and Mandi Bahauddin.
In Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Murree, and Galiyat, rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is anticipated.
Currently, water levels in Punjab’s rivers such as Chenab, Ravi, Jhelum, and Sutlej are normal. However, a flood warning has been issued specifically for the Chenab River at Marala due to the potential for moderate to high flooding.
The PDMA advises people to be cautious during this time. They recommend avoiding river crossings and any contact with electrical infrastructure to ensure safety.
