The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that dust storms, thunderstorms, rain, and hail may hit many parts of Pakistan from June 2 to June 5. The weather system is linked to an approaching westerly disturbance, which can bring sudden changes in wind and rain across the country.
According to the forecast, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and upper Sindh may all see scattered rain and strong winds. Some places could receive heavy rain and hailstorms, especially in northern and hilly areas. The PMD also warned that strong winds and lightning may damage weak buildings, trees, and power lines.
The alert also raises concern about flash floods, landslides, and glacial lake outburst floods in vulnerable areas. This risk is higher in mountain regions where rain can quickly swell streams and block roads. Travelers, tourists, and local people have been advised to stay careful during this period and avoid unnecessary travel in risky areas.
The next few days may bring rough weather to many parts of the country. People should keep an eye on weather updates, secure loose items at home, and stay away from rivers, hillsides, and open areas during storms.
