WhatsApp had announced in October the feature allowing users to use 2 accounts on one phone. Now, this feature is available to almost all users.
Before, users could use one WhatsApp account on one phone for messaging app under Meta ownership. But now, it’s possible to use 2 WhatsApp accounts on one phone. This feature is especially beneficial for those using WhatsApp for business purposes, as with multi-account support, they can separate accounts for work and personal use.
To use this feature, it’s necessary to have Dual SIM support on the phone so that 2 different numbers can be used for 2 WhatsApp accounts.
For Android devices, to use the feature, open WhatsApp settings and tap on the dropdown arrow next to your name. Select the ‘Add Account’ option and enter your second phone number, then click ‘Next’. After that, you’ll receive a 6-digit code via SMS, enter the code and type your profile name, then select a profile picture.
This way, your second account will be created. A similar process works for iPhone as well, but as mentioned earlier, this feature works on phones with Dual SIM support.
Apple has provided Dual SIM support in only a few iPhone models in recent years.
