WhatsApp has improved the privacy by allowing users to turn on the ‘Chat lock’ feature. Users can lock their important chats with a password, passcode, Face ID, or fingerprint. Read out to know how!
The chat lock feature will provide full security to your chats however, you will receive call notifications. The person whose chat you have locked would not know. To lock archived chats, users have to unarchive them first.
Turn on Chat Lock
Follow the following steps to turn on the chat lock.
- Open the WhatsApp chat you want to lock.
- Click on chat info or ‘View contact’.
- Find the chat lock feature and press on it.
- Turn on the fingerprint for your locked chats.
- Now tap view and check if the chat is in the locked chats folder.
- The chat will not be locked on the connected devices.
View Locked Chats
To view the locked chats, follow the given steps.
- Swipe down the chats tap to refresh it.
- You will see the locked chats folder.
- Click on it, and use the fingerprint to unlock it.
- Now you can send and view the messages.
The users can turn off the lock by going to the chat info and turning it off. Avail of the feature to maximize your privacy.
