Historical Findings from 1911, Electric Car Charging in Garage

A picture of an electric car from 1911 found charging in a garage is a true depiction of innovation and invention 100 years ago.

This astonishing finding revealed that even in the past, electric cars were invented to overtake gasoline vehicles.

If we dig into the history of this picture, we will find out that Europe has been working on battery-powered vehicles since the 1830s and was successful in introducing the first ever electric car in the US in 1890.

The early electric cars outperformed their gas competitors and gained much popularity among the public, especially women, who disliked the noisy and polluted environment created by the conventional ones until 1900.

An article published in the New York Times in 1911 reported that electric cars were much more popular among men and women as compared to normal gasoline vehicles and included this picture as a reference.

Unfortunately, this revolution did not stay popular for too long since it cost three times more than a gasoline car.

This finding is a reminder to us that it is a need of every era, and we should work on effective strategies to make electric cars cost-effective to be used by the general public in the future to prevent our gasoline reserves from vanishing.
