Honda Pakistan Shuts Down Production Again

Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan has extended its plant shutdown once again, citing the country’s economic crisis and supply chain disruptions due to limitations on opening LCs for imports.

The leading car manufacturer has been unable to continue production for the past 50 days, and this marks the fourth plant closure since the beginning of the year. The shutdown, which was initially announced on March 8 and later extended to April 15, will now continue until May 15.

In a notice to Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company again flagged stern measures to deal with the economic situation which ‘severely disrupted’ the company’s supply chain. “As a result, the Company is not in a position to continue with its production and ultimately has continued to shut down its plant from May 01, 2023, to May 15, 2023,” the notice reads.
