Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja visited several petrol pumps in Islamabad late at night to review the implementation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s fuel relief scheme.
During the surprise visits, the minister met citizens and asked about problems they were facing while registering and receiving subsidised petrol. She also guided eligible people about the registration process and said applicants only need to register once.
The scheme provides a Rs100 per litre petrol subsidy to motorcycles, rickshaws, Qingqi vehicles and cars with engines of up to 800cc. Motorcycle and rickshaw users can receive relief on up to 20 litres per month, while eligible small-car owners can get up to 30 litres.
How to Register for the Fuel Relief Scheme
- Send your CNIC number to 9771.
- Send your vehicle registration number to the same number.
- Provide your province and vehicle registration date as required for registration.
- Wait for registration confirmation after submitting the details.
- Before visiting a designated petrol pump, send “TOK” to 9771.
- Once the process is completed, eligible applicants can visit a designated petrol pump to receive the fuel subsidy.
The scheme started in Islamabad on September 15, with nationwide implementation planned from September 17.
