Pakistan’s opening batsman, Imam-ul-Haq, is upset because fans call him a ‘parchi’ (someone who gets favored due to connections), even though he performs well. He shared that he doesn’t take his parents to stadiums because he’s scared they’ll hear mean comments.
This has been happening since he started playing One Day Internationals (ODIs) in 2017, especially because his uncle Inzamam-ul-Haq was the chief selector, which led to people saying he got special treatment. Even though he does really well in ODIs, people forget that on bad days.
Imam will be playing in the Pakistan-Afghanistan ODI series, the Asia Cup 2023, and ICC World Cup 2023 as an opener, and he hopes to prove himself again.
