ICC Reportedly Approves Hybrid Model for 2025 Champions Trophy

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a hybrid hosting model for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Dubai. This decision was reached after an agreement between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The split hosting arrangement aims to address concerns over security.

According to the plan, the matches will be divided between the two locations. India’s league-stage matches, including their highly anticipated game against Pakistan, will be held in Dubai. Additionally, the semifinals and the final are also scheduled to take place in Dubai. However, if India is eliminated early from the tournament, these matches will be shifted to Lahore and Rawalpindi in Pakistan.

In a further boost for Pakistan cricket, the PCB has also secured the hosting rights for an ICC Women’s tournament, which will take place after 2027. This decision highlights growing international confidence in Pakistan’s ability to host major cricket events.

The 2025 Champions Trophy is set to run from February 19 to March 9, 2025, and the hybrid model is seen as a major step forward for Pakistan cricket, helping to bring international matches back to the country while addressing logistical and security challenges.
