If BCCI Refuses to Play in Pakistan, Govt will Not Allow us to Go to India, says Najam Sethi

In an interview with the media in Islamabad, Sethi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee, stated his worries that the Pakistani government may not permit the national team to compete in the World Cup 2023 if India refused to visit Pakistan for the Asia Cup.

We have previously explored the idea of a hybrid format with the ACC members, in which India would be allowed to host its matches in a neutral location of their choosing.

When it comes to Pakistan’s participation in the ODI World Cup in October 2021, we’ll continue to operate in the same way, the PCB chief stated.

According to Sethi, it seems unlikely that the Pakistani team would travel to India for the ODI World Cup.

If India decides not to go there to participate in the Asia Cup, Pakistan’s authorities could not allow the Green Shirts to cross the border to compete in the World Cup.
