The period of gas load shedding has been extended in different areas of Karachi, while fears have been expressed that the shortage of gas may increase in the coming days.
According to the details, due to field maintenance, the gas supply in Karachi was affected and the duration of gas load shedding was increased in different areas.
Sui Southern Company says that there is a shortage of 50 MMcfd of gas due to maintenance, the gas shortage may increase in the coming days.
It should be remembered that last week the spokesperson of SSGC had issued an instruction, in which it was said that there will be a reduction in gas supply in the city from August 12 to 27, due to which domestic, commercial, industry and captive power will be severely affected.
Sui Southern says that there will be an annual shutdown of the gas field due to maintenance, however, OGDCL has issued a maintenance plan for kantarpa sakhi gas field, the maintenance of the gas field will be done in 3 phases for 16 days.
According to the spokesman, there will be a complete gas shutdown for 8 days, 2 partial gas shutdowns for 4 days, 107 mmcfd reduction will be faced in full shutdown while 50 mmcfd reduction will be faced in both partial shutdowns.
