As part of the second round of the Ehsaas Kafalat scheme, Prime Minister Imran Khan declared financial assistance for the families of people with different abilities.
PM Khan made the announcement on his official Twitter account, saying that two million differently-abled individuals would receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 2,000 under the Ehsaas Kafaalat Scheme for Special Persons.
The announcement came on the day that the world recognizes the International Day of People with Disabilities.
Pakistan has up to 27 million citizens of various skills, according to the government and other sources, or 0.27 percent of the world’s total, which is one billion.
The aim of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is to promote the rights of differently abled persons in all aspects of the world and progress.
In this respect, through the Joint Parliamentary Session in September, Pakistan adopted a bill to curb discrimination against millions of Pakistanis with different skills.
It ensures fair participation in politics, education, housing, and equality before the law for people with different abilities. The bill also protects them from conduct which is violent, intolerant, and discriminatory.
