Ghee and cooking oil production in the country showed a general upward trend during the last financial year. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics data, in the first 11 months of the fiscal year 2023, the country recorded an annual growth of 10.44% in ghee production and 12.57% in edible oil production.
According to the statistics, in the period from July 2022 to May 2023, 1421144 metric tons of ghee were produced in the country, which is 10.44% more than the same period of the financial year 2022.
In the same period of the financial year 2022, the production of 1286859 metric tons of ghee was achieved in the country. In May 2023, the country produced 134,353 metric tons of ghee, which is 23.80% higher than in May 2022. In May 2022, the production of ghee in the country was 108527 MT.
According to statistics, in the first 11 months of the last fiscal year, the country produced 513,206 metric tons of edible oil, which is 12.57 percent more than in the fiscal year 2022.
In the first 11 months of the financial year 2022, the production of edible oil in the country was 455884 metric tons. In May, the country produced 54,975 metric tons of edible oil, which is 24.45 percent higher than in May last year. In May last year, the production of edible oil in the country was 44174 metric tons.Â
