The government of Haryana has introduced a new scheme to provide a monthly pension of Rs 2,750 to unmarried individuals aged between 45 and 60 with low incomes. Similarly, widowers between the ages of 40 and 60 with an annual income below Rs 3 lakh will also receive a similar pension.
This initiative will require the state to spend an additional Rs 240 crore per year.
According to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, there are around 65,000 unmarried individuals and 5,687 widowers who meet the specified age and income criteria. The monthly pension aims to support these individuals in covering their personal expenses.
